Dolly
Provenance. Prénom dérivé de Dolorès. Vient du latin "dolor" Signifie : "douleur" Se fête le 15 septembre.
Histoire. Prénom donné en l'honneur de Notre-Dame-des-Douleurs en Espagne et en Amérique Latine. Née en 1815 en Espagne, Dolorès consacre sa vie à Dieu et aux enfants en se faisant religieuse. Supérieure d'une communauté à Tortosa, elle ouvre une école pour les enfants pauvres et fonde un institut qui oeuvre au service des enfants et des malades. Elle meurt en 1876 et sera canonisée par Jean Paul II en 1988.
Caractère. Leur caractère ne manque pas de contradictions. Intelligentes et enfantines, généreuses et agressives, équitables un jour et injustes un autre, elles sont difficiles à suivre et quelque peu instables. Ardentes, passionnées, lutteuses, elles défendent leurs intérêts avec vigueur. Très actives, elles entreprennent mille choses à la fois.
