Provenance. Diminutif portugais de Charlène et Charlotte. Vient du germain karl", signifie : "fort, vigoureux" Se fête le 17 juillet.
Histoire. En 1794, Charlotte va fêter ses quatre vingt ans avec ses soeurs au carmel de Compiègne lorsqu'elle est arrêtée et condamnée à mort avec quinze de ses compagnes ; toutes accuséees de "former entre elles des rassemblements dangereux pour la République". Les religieuses sont guillotinées place du Trône (aujourd'hui la Nation) à Paris, le 17 juillet.
Caractère. Charmantes, séduisantes, aimant la toilette et toujours à la mode, un rien frivoles, elles ont une faiblesse pour le luxe et l'argent.
